I’ve been slacking and I’m sorry about it!

So, if you’ve noticed, these past two weeks have been content-less. It’s been so empty that I decided to move my update days from Fridays to Sundays when I have more time to sit and write for you all. I will also try to post two entries for two different areas on one day to cover my bases.

It’s just that right now….I’m working really hard on that, but I’ve been so busy lately!

I know, I know – NO EXCUSES! But I’ve been really struggling with balancing everything right now. To give you an idea of some things I’m working on (besides the blog, of course), I’ll share with you some of my projects.

On top of this blog and my job as an ELL teacher, I also:

  1. Do social media for a friend’s business. I was enlisted to help my friend and his business, a frozen yogurt shop, with its social media marketing. And in between brainstorming meetings and coming up with our marketing plan, I also was hired to help when I can in the actual storefront. I’m basically my friend’s assistant/social media rep/super part-time assistant (seriously, I’m not even written on the schedule.) It’s nice to finally use my COM degree with a focus on public relations in my life, even if I have to work in a yogurt shop to do it.
  2. Write articles as a freelancer for a relationship expert and his website. I’m part of his team of writers that talk about how to deal with breakups and working to fix relationships and all that. I love this because I get to write and give some advice on what works and doesn’t in relationships, based on my own experience and from what I’ve seen.
  3. Work for a fitness company as a media/creative content contributor. My role in this job is to brainstorm content and ideas that we could create in the future for our social media platforms. I guess I’m also like “the face” of it because my face is in a lot of those videos as well. I film the videos, snap the pictures, interview when I need to. It’s pretty cool and again, I get to use my COM degree for it.

I had to quit a retail job I held throughout the holiday season because my schedule was getting to be too much. I don’t have much of a social life anymore, but I’m trying to change that so that I can be more well-rounded and less of a grump.

Speaking of being less of a grump, I’ve been reading You Are A Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life, which is really doing wonders in changing my perspective on life. Honestly, 2017 was such a bad year for me that I don’t want to ever repeat it or ever find myself in that situation or feeling ever again. So, I’m dedicating 2018 to trying to new things and reaching for new opportunities – the ones I’d normally think were too good to be true ones that I felt I am underqualified for.

Oh! I forgot to mention something really exciting! Two Saturdays ago, I went to San Francisco, one of my favorite cities in the world, for a job interview.

It was for a position as a teacher intern for the San Francisco Unified School District. I won’t get into much detail about it, but it was really such a good experience to see another city’s (a bigger one at that) school district and their core beliefs for its employees, students, schools, and parents. It really reignited my passion for teaching, which is something I honestly have been struggling to keep strong in the past year.

I think it’s something about being a new city, a lively city, that really awoken that side of me again. So fingers crossed that this opportunity will work out and the Universe will open its door to me living in that great city.

In that trip, I also caught up with my cousin, Michael, and finally met his girlfriend, Stephanie. They pretty much took care of me the entire weekend, along with my Auntie Agnes, who housed me on my short trip.

I haven’t seen my cousin for so long that it was nice catching up with him. It’s also good to know that I have a support system if and when I do move to San Francisco!

Even though I am busy, I am dedicated to keeping this blog alive. After all, it’s only been alive for one whole month now. YAY~

I have some new and exciting things coming up. A lot of them have to do with product reviewing, fitness, and dating. I actually just tried out a product on Saturday night and did a Facebook live to make it more interactive than just doing a video of myself. That was only a trial run, so for the real thing, I’m going to have it posted.

As far as fitness goes, I’ve finally found the time to meal prep this week! I don’t have any pictures of that (I’m sorry!) because my cooking skills are so subpar. But I will have them up the next time around. Sailor Scout’s honor!

Lastly, for the dating part, I have some exciting ideas for it. But I’m going to need the help of some friends for it. Stay tuned for that because I’m truly so excited for it!

Anyway, that is all for my one-month update. See you next Sunday with a brand new post!

That’s it, pancit!
