HAPPY EASTER, EVERYONE!
Just like Jesus rises from the dead, so does my blog!
And if you aren’t religious, then Happy…April Fool’s Day? But this isn’t an April Fool’s joke! My blog is really B*A*C*K!
It’s been a while, hasn’t it? Yeah, it’s been a while. I have been slacking because of work-related issues. To be very honest about it, I put my blog on the backburner of my mind because it wasn’t very important to me in the past two months.
But I’ve been reprioritizing what’s important to me. One of the top items on that list is my blog. So, I’m going to be starting it back up again! Yay!
Along with struggling to balance out my work schedule, I’ve been reading a lot of empowerment (aka self-help) books to boost up my productivity and self-esteem. I just finished You Are A Badass by Jennifer Sincero in mid-March and am reading through The 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins.
Let me tell you, I grew up with the stigma that self-help books were full of common sense stuff that we should already know and the people who read them didn’t know anything and that’s why the read them. I’m sure a lot of people grew up like that. But for some reason, these books are really helping me out and I’m slowly seeing the positive outcomes these books have said would come once I put them to practice in my real life.
There are some people who grow up learning how to do the things that are taught in the book and that’s why they’re successful now. But I didn’t have the privilege to grow up that way, and therefore my eyes are being open to a whole new world. It’s honestly changing my life and the way I look at it.
Let’s see…what else is new with me? Well, I’m now a BeachBody coach…or did I mention that in my last post? I might’ve so let me just say it again. I’m a new BeachBody coach and I’m slowly trying to grow a business out of that. My first and only client (for now) is my 23-year-old niece who is doing the 80 Day Obsession challenge with me. She was actually the one who inspired me to try out this challenge because I wasn’t going to ever. She wanted to, though, so I figure if she was going to join my team, I’ll go along for the ride with her.
In my new role as a BeachBody coach, I’m now working out 6 days a week and have switched over to a plant-based diet. I tell people it’s not strictly a vegan diet since I still eat eggs and some dairy (like ice cream), but I haven’t eaten meat for two weeks and have stayed off dairy products for the most part. I’m starting to see some benefits of switching up my meal plans so far.
Hmm…okay, besides fitness. Oh! You might’ve read from my previous post that I was debating leaving education as a career field. Well, recently, I sent in an audition tape to be a lifestyle host for a local news station. It was a longshot and I knew it, but you gotta shoot your shots, you know? You really never know until you try. And try I did! I obviously didn’t get the job, since that would be the first bit of news I’d share. Anyway, upward and onward, right?
Well, that’s pretty much all that’s happened in the past two months. Just career- and fitness-related shifts in life. I’ll pretty much return to regular scheduled posts this week.
Anyway, have a great Easter! Have a great Sunday! And make sure your pranks aren’t too crazy today.
That’s it, pancit!
